Biography
Alberto is a Partner at Calderon & De La Sierra and co-heads the Litigation Area.
Since 1995, Alberto HUERTA BLECK has focused his practice on IP law and litigation. His practice involves civil procedures, constitutional procedures (Amparo) and administrative litigation, including patent, trademark and copyrights cancellation and infringement / enforcement actions.
Mr. HUERTA BLECK has been involved in civil proceedings relating to lost profits and damages; patent litigations; criminal and enforcement proceedings; administrative litigation in which the judges recognized the “Well Known” status of different famous trademarks. Mr. HUERTA BLECK has obtained favorable resolutions relating to false advertising or non-authorized use of a person’s picture and was successfully involved in the first case of ambush marketing ruled in Mexico in 2016, among numerous other administrative IP and constitutional proceedings.ambush marketing”.
Likewise, Mr. HUERTA BLECK counsels regarding the best strategies to protect their IP rights (copyrights, trademarks, patents and trade secrets) in Mexico and abroad, and has been called as an expert witness in U.S. proceedings. Since 2009, Mr. HUERTA BLECK has been recognized as a leading IP attorney in Mexico.
Mr. HUERTA BLECK has served as President of the Contentious Group of the Mexican Association for IP Protection (AMPPI) the IP Mexican Chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); he is member of the Mexican Bar Association, INTA and MARQUES.
